Technical Editors: | Oracle joins forces with AT&T, NavLink and Drutt Networks to provide a pan European, end-to-end wireless hosting service[June 19th 2001] Oracle, NavLink and Drutt Networks have entered into a commercial cooperation agreement to deliver value-added wireless applications to Oracle customers, based on the wireless capabilities of Oracle9i Application Server.Future plans
call for the European Wireless Hosting Service to connect any correctly-equipped
Oracle customer or partner in Europe via the AT&T Global Network Services
network to NavLink’s most appropriate managed hosting facilities, using the
Drutt Networks’ mobile capabilities to execute the service over any mobile
operator. As the
convergence of fixed and wireless Internet becomes a reality, corporations are
looking for innovative solutions to integrate wireless technology into their
overall eBusiness strategy. With Oracle’s, NavLink’s and Drutt Networks’
European wireless service, customers will be offered flexible outsourced hosting
scenarios for their overall wireless strategies. These
Wireless Hosting Services are aimed at enterprises that want to give their
workforce, partners and customers mobile access to office and / or back-end
applications whilst outsourcing the provision, hosting and management of the
total infrastructure. They also target enterprises that purchase and operate

Application Server and its Wireless Option and outsource the provision
and operation of the mobile infrastructure. Oracle
