Steve Jobs' fans have apparently downloaded the beta version of the iPhone SDK 100,000 times in a mere four days, claims Apple.
Even more inexplicably, one million people have apparently watched the SDK launch video on Apple's web site.
Of course, if you actually bother to develop an app for the iPhone – or the iPod Touch, for that matter – then you're going to have to sell it via Apple's own App Store.
Developers get 70 percent of the proceeds from any sale. However, if you don't make the grade for Apple's own criteria, you've wasted all that time and energy.
Apple trotted out a bunch of favourable developers including Scott Zerby, a veep with THQ Wireless, to praise the SDK. "The iPhone is the mobile platform game developers have been dreaming of," he said.
If that's the case, Mobile Software Insight would hate to have one of Zerby's nightmares. They must be really bad. |
