The objective for Deltathree is to encourage owners of the new Globarange of VoIP/PSTN handsets from Panasonic to take up usage of its Joip consumer VoIP service. To do so, Deltathree wants to tailor incentives directly to small consumer groups. For example, a British community in California would be offered low cost calls back to the UK. The task of setting up such offers and then closely monitoring the results has been very difficult. To solve this problem Pontis has created a 'marketing delivery platform'. This is an application which sits between the marketing department and the network – be it VoIP, mobile or fixed. Pontis' software can gather information from a variety of sources – such as CRM applications and present the results in a readily understandable fashion. The Pontis platform, for example, was used by 3 in Scandinavia to roll out an offer to subscribers to encourage the use of MMS (picture messaging) on Valentine's Day. The offer was put together in just 24 hours whereas previously it would have taken weeks.
