F-Secure brings
Anti-Virus Software to WAP

15th 2000] F-Secure Corporation and Hewlett-Packard have announced that they
will be co-operating on a new solution to provide security as an e-service,
following F-Secure’s entry to HP’s Mobile E-services Bazaar.
F-Secure’s Anti-Virus for WAP Gateway software will run on HP’s WAP
gateway to deliver the world’s first centrally managed anti-virus scanner for
WAP phones. Targeted at operators and enterprise customers, this solution allows
Web-based content to be scanned at the network level, thus ensuring that
information downloaded by users onto their mobile devices is virus free. F-Secure
and HP will also be teaming up to present a worldwide series of seminars aimed
at helping telecom operators, service providers and business executives
understand security issues in the mobile space. The series is scheduled to start
in New York on March 7 and will take in nine other cities in the United States,
Asia and Europe. F-Secure and HP have been working together since January to
bring to market innovative new solutions that advance secure wireless
connectivity to the Internet. “We
are pleased to welcome F-Secure to the Mobile E-services Bazaar and believe its
success in providing centrally managed, widely distributed security solutions
for the distributed enterprise makes it a highly suitable partner for developing
mobile security solutions,” said Ulf Beyschlag, HP’s worldwide Mobile
E-services program manager. “The integration of HP infrastructure and F-Secure
security solutions will form one of the building blocks of Mobile E-services.” “F-Secure

platforms and to deliver value to our customers. F-Secure Anti-Virus for WAP
Gateway is built on the F-Secure Policy Manager technology, designed to bring
‘Security as a Service’ for a wide array of platforms.” The F-Secure
Anti-Virus for WAP Gateway is scheduled to be available later this spring on the
Windows NT platform and later on Linux and HP-UX platforms. About

at fueling the creation of innovative new Mobile E-services, HP’s Mobile
E-services Bazaar combines an online e-service trading community, open to mobile
operators, service providers, application providers and enterprises, with
physical locations for developing and testing new value-added applications. The
first of these facilities has already opened in Finland and Singapore, and new
