Nokia to deliver its first WAP contract in China with Jilin MCC
Nokia has signed the first contract with Jilin Mobile Communication to offer the corporation a commercial WAP solution in mainland China. Deliveries have already begun of the Nokia Artus Messaging Platform, including both WAP gateway and Messaging modules. Nokia will also provide the necessary system integration, making the contract a comprehensive end-to-end solution. With the Messaging module of Nokia
Artus Messaging Platform, Jilin can offer value-added messaging and mobile Internet services to all GSM users who have phones that support short messages, even if they don't have WAP-enabled phones.
Jilin MCC currently has 1,000,000 subscribers and operates GSM 900 and GSM 1800 networks in Jilin Province.
