Skype and 3 announce co-marketing agreement[March 13th 2006] 3, the mobile media company, today announced the launch of a datacard with the best 3G coverage in the UK. The 3 datacard is on sale today from £39.99. 3 also announced a co-marketing agreement with Skype today, which will see 3 customers able to access Skype internet services through 3's datacard.The datacard With over 88% population coverage for 3G services, the datacard offers 3 customers faster wireless connectivity via a laptop in more places in the UK than any other network. The 3 datacard enables access to a range of internet services on the move from internet browsing, online purchasing, secure access to banking and email, access to client-based email, chat, instant messaging, VoiP services and corporate VPN connectivity. Skype agreement 3 has bundled a special starter pack provided by Skype with the "3G Quad" brand of datacard supplied by Option. The starter pack includes the Skype software, a Skype headset and a Skype starter voucher. Graeme Oxby, 3 UK, Marketing Director said: "With the best 3G network, 3's customers can get high-speed, wireless internet across the UK. 3 is leading the convergence of communications, entertainment and information services and this co-marketing agreement with Skype demonstrates our leadership in the market. 3's datacard launch follows the Skype and Hutchison 3G partnership announcement at 3GSM Barcelona. 3 has an agreement with Option International to supply its "3G quad" brand of datacards. The 3 datacard will be available direct at www.three.co.uk, ThreeStores and through third-party retailers. |
