Digital Mobility offers Thomson Financial customers real time mobile trading
capabilities
[February 15th
2001] In today's share trading environment where every second counts, banking
and stock broking customers of Thomson Financial, the leading financial
information provider, now have the ultimate weapon - the ability to trade their
stocks securely via mobile phone at the touch of a button. This has become
possible thanks to a partnership between wireless solutions developer Digital
Mobility and Thomson Financial Solutions (TFSolutions), which will see
TFSolutions extending its existing distribution platform to enable secure,
real-time wireless trading of European equities. Digital Mobility's
standard-independent solution currently uses WAP on GSM, but is ready for future
mobile standards such as GPRS, i-mode, EDGE and UMTS. "Security and
real-time access to information are the keys to ensuring continued demand for
the wireless delivery of financial services," said Johan Sjöquist, Chief
Operating Officer of Digital Mobility. "I
believe we have succeeded in offering Thomson Financial a fail-safe solution
designed to integrate seamlessly into the company's existing platform."
He added, "Clients will have powerful, timely and tamper-proof
access to financial information and trading services, and will be able to
respond immediately to market fluctuations wherever they are, whatever they're
doing." "This
partnership allows us to offer our clients the ground-breaking advantage of
genuinely secure wireless trading on the move," comments Gareth Evans,
Managing Director of TFSolutions. "It enables access to the most
time-sensitive information from GlobalTOPIC, Extel, First Call, Worldscope,
Datastream and all other Thomson Financial content-providing companies, giving
clients minute-by-minute control over their interests." |
