WAPDrive allies with Telefónica Móviles España[August 16th 2000] The FortuneCity Network has announced that WAPDrive, its wholly-owned subsidiary, has signed an agreement with Telefónica Móviles España (www.tsm.es), the Spanish mobile division of Telefónica, for WAP related technology. The partnership will allow Telefónica Móviles' customers to build their own WAP sites free of charge using the WAPDrive WAP publishing tool. WAPDrive and Telefónica Móviles expect the initiative to be operational by the end of Q3, 2000. This partnership represents the first deal of its kind in Spain. FortuneCity has already signed a similar agreement with leading mobile operator KPN Telecom in the Netherlands in April and with Vodafone earlier. As a result of the partnership, Telefónica Móviles' WAP customers will benefit from WAPDrive's publishing tool which is an original and extremely user-friendly tool to make WAP sites. It allows Internet users, without any programming knowledge, to produce online WAP sites where they can store all types of information and data, which can be updated in real time via the Internet. For those who want full control over the design elements of their site, an advanced option is available for programming in WML. The WAP sites created via WAPDrive are fully adapted to the features of WAP-enabled phones and can be accessed by every mobile WAP-user and Internet surfer worldwide. Telefónica Móviles' WAP customers will be able to create WAP websites on TV and film, local information, travel and city guides, music, sports, etc. Telefónica Móviles España and WAPDrive will also work closely together on the development of future WAPDrive applications and enhancements.
